I am honored to be nominated to serve as Vice Chair on the Board of Directors for the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Salem. My relevant professional experience includes working for the Community Action Agency of Salem as Family Head Start Director. Subsequently, I served as the Oregon state-wide Head Start Collaboration Director/Early Childhood Specialist for the Oregon Department of Education. In retirement, I served as Chair of the Personnel Committee at the Salem Congregational United Church of Christ. I also served a three-year term on the Board of Directors for the Causa program, Oregon’s state-wide migrant farmworker advocacy organization.
I attended UUCS for ten years before becoming a member in 2017. UUCS is in the process of transitioning from something known and comfortable to something unknown and possibly a bit uncomfortable. I would like to bring my experience working on and with boards, collaborating, and developing partnerships to support a positive future for UUCS.
